Robot 63

Here's a little video demo of what the Robot 63 donation box does when a donation is made. There are about 7 dozen different sounds he makes.

GigaPan at CMU

I headed over to Carnegie Mellon University last night for some training on their GigaPan system. Below is my first test image with the ultimate goal of shooting the Robot Repair shop public art installation. In a nutshell GigaPans are created by a robotic camera mount accompanied with software that creates huge panoramas with fascinating detail, all captured in the context of a single brilliant photo.

I'm hoping to shoot Robot Repair this spring.

Wires, wires, wires....

The hidden away electronic guts of my robots keep getting more and more complex.

This collection of wires, transistors, resistors etc. is going into a new robot holding a donation box (for a non-profit art gallery). It's job is to trigger a sequence of sounds and lights when a donation is made.

Video to come shortly of the piece in action.
