Press
The Robot Repair shop installation has been getting some nice press lately. Here are a couple of mentions that have come out in the past week. One is from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the other from Pittsburgh Magazine.

GigaPan at CMU
I headed over to Carnegie Mellon University last night for some training on their GigaPan system. Below is my first test image with the ultimate goal of shooting the Robot Repair shop public art installation. In a nutshell GigaPans are created by a robotic camera mount accompanied with software that creates huge panoramas with fascinating detail, all captured in the context of a single brilliant photo.
I'm hoping to shoot Robot Repair this spring.

Wires, wires, wires....
The hidden away electronic guts of my robots keep getting more and more complex.
This collection of wires, transistors, resistors etc. is going into a new robot holding a donation box (for a non-profit art gallery). It's job is to trigger a sequence of sounds and lights when a donation is made.
Video to come shortly of the piece in action.

Occupying Time
I added a new section to the Robot Repair website for those that don't live/work in downtown Pittsburgh. It's a photo archive of all the different things the lonely robot does to occupy his time.

New Piece
A new commissioned piece is really starting to take shape. The ankle/knee/hip joints take a lot of calculating and tweaking. Once they're set things usually start coming together fast.

Merchandise for the Robot Repair Public Art Installation
There is now merchandise available for the "Robot Repair" public art installation I opened in Pittsburgh a few weeks ago. If you know a fan of the installation and order by the 15th you'll have a pretty cool Christmas present on your hands. Support small fictional businesses!

Tonight in my space at 210 6th St. Pittsburgh!
